On 27 April 2021, our team member Theo Zschörnig attended the 23rd International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS) and presented current research results from the SENERGY project in his talk entitled “A Hybrid IoT Analytics Platform – Architectural Model and Evaluation”.
The publication on which the talk was based describes a system architecture model that supports the flexible and real-time processing of sensor data streams using resources on different network layers (cloud and edge computing). The architecture model was implemented as a prototype, piloted in a real environment and quantitatively evaluated in the course of field experiments. In addition to the technical feasibility, it was shown that the inclusion of several network layers, especially for complex data analysis procedures, leads to advantages in terms of latency and resource utilisation.
Both the quality of the paper and the quality of the presentation convinced the conference chairs to confer him the award for the best paper in the area of Software Agents and Internet Computing.
Due to the Corona pandemic, ICEIS 2021 was held as an online event.
